Everybody loves to party. And even if they don’t, everybody HAS to go to a party every now and then. But wouldn’t it be great if you could attend a party where you had the best night? When the time comes for you to throw a party -either birthday, Halloween, Christmas or for any reason-, there can be a lot of pressure for being an amazing host. But throwing a party doesn’t have to be that difficult. There are plenty of activities you can prepare for your guests or even the tiniest details can make a difference. Keep reading to discover cool ways to entertain your guests at your next party.
Make an assorted playlist
We all know the fate of your party lays on the music’s shoulders. The musical choices you make (or let others make) at your party can either make or break the mood. Have you ever gone to a party where the music was so boring or annoying that you couldn’t wait to leave? Since you don’t want anything like that happening at your party it’s important you pay close attention to your set. Create a playlist beforehand where you try to cover the most popular musical genres. A little bit of pop, a little bit of rock, heck, you can even throw a bit of rap if your guests enjoy it. If there’s going to be dancing make sure to include the latest hits so everyone feels like they’re in a club.
Arrange poker or board games
Any party could be ten times better if you arrange games for your guests. They bring out the most competitive and silly side of people and time will fly. If you want to make your party extra special arrange a poker or board game for everyone. If they know a thing or two about poker they could spice things up and start betting. And if you have people who don’t know how to play it’s the perfect opportunity to teach them. And who said the games had to be played physically? You can create an account in BeastsOfPoker and arrange one of the most challenging sets you’ve ever seen. (You’ll even enjoy playing here on your own!)
Set up a bar for your guests
Alcohol is always a great component to live up a party. If you want to keep your guests entertained, set up a bar for them. It doesn’t have to be an expensive and fancy rental with waiter service, you can set up your own bar with a big tub of ice, colored cups and fresh mixers. If your budget is really tight you can ask your guests to bring their own alcohol (a B.Y.O.B party), but we’ll get to that later. Bars are also the perfect place for people to break the ice and get to know each other while waiting for their turn to get their drinks.
Make it a theme party or costume party
This is the formula for success, and it’s as effective in children’s parties as it is on grown up get togethers. If you really want to create a fun environment among your guests throw a themed party or even a costume party. It could be something so simple as a “black and white party”, the point is you make your guests do something differently and break their routine. Since you’ll be throwing a themed party you can also include things like contests or runways for guests to goof around.
Arrange a drinking game
This is one of the most effective ways to entertain your guests, but you should keep an eye so things don’t get out of control. Set up a beer pong table or arrange one of those games where you play a movie and everyone has a shot whenever something in particular happens in the story. Drinking always loosens people up and lets them have a better time and be more social. Just remember to be responsible and take care of those guests who’re driving and make sure to keep their car keys and send them on Uber.
Have guests prepare their favorite cocktail
Picking up where we left of regarding the drinks, if you have a tight budget or you simply want to shake things up, ask your guests to prepare their favorite cocktail. They can either bring all of the ingredients themselves or you can make a poll and ask around who knows how to prepare which cocktail and buy everything yourself. It’ll be fun having someone teach the others how to make a new drink and everyone will feel fancier walking around with a fresh and colorful drink in their hands.
You don’t need hundreds of dollars or a fancy venue to make your guests have the time of their lives. With a little creativity you could easily keep your guests entertained and enjoy a party that stands out from the rest.
