Vaping shows to be one of the fastest growing industries in the nation and takes a bite out of the smoking market share.  However, if you have ever investigated vaping, the biggest mystery may be the juice itself. The components that go into a vape are simplistic, a battery and a coil to vaporize the juice. They also will have some sort of containment unit for the juice like space jam e juice.  So, what is inside vape juice?  This guide will help you understand the components.

The primary ingredients found in most juice consists of either propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin, the flavoring, water, and the level of nicotine required.  The water and glycol or glycerin are the components of the mixture that create the vapor. The flavoring gives the wonderful mixtures and combinations of flavors out there.  Nicotine is the addictive substance that goes in to help reduce cigarette cravings. By and large, that is the unhealthiest portion of vaping.

The propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin are the binding agents that help keep everything homogenous.  These ingredients, mixed with an appropriate amount of dihydrogen monoxide, make up almost 90% of the entire recipe.  Now, dihydrogen monoxide has been discussed to cause several problems, but rest assured, in this concoction it is completely harmless.  The primary reason these ingredients are so prevalent is to create the vaporizing agent and ensure a uniform taste throughout the entire bottle.

After you boil it down, the most complex and confusing part of vape juice comes from the flavoring itself.  Most retailers use food grade flavorings to produce the exact flavor combinations you are seeking. These flavors come from many different areas, including essential oils of peppermint, orange, or lemon, extracts like vanilla, or other approved food flavorings found in many candies.  These flavors must pass through FDA food testing and have strict guidelines to make sure they are safe for consumption.

While the above make up the majority of all vape flavors, there are a few things you should know.  The vape industry, unlike the tobacco industry, is not regulated currently. This means that distributors are not required to label or disclose everything that goes into their flavor.  In some studies, nicotine traces have been found in flavors listed as nicotine free. In other cases, extra chemicals have been found in some flavors. This is a minority of findings, but they do exist.  To that end, try to stick with well trusted flavors from well-known vendors.

Overall, most flavors are going to be made from the same basic four types of ingredients.  Water and glycol or glycerin make the base, nicotine adds the punch you are looking for, and the flavorings give it the taste you desire.  This is a cake walk list compared to the thousands of chemicals in each cigarette. This is one of the primary reasons that vaping is considered healthier than smoking.  You should always know and pronounce everything in your vape juice.
