With 8,569 entries and a $80,548,600 prize pool, it’s official: the 2019 Main Event is the second-biggest in World Series of Poker history.

The top prize is guaranteed to hit the $10 million mark for the first time in five years. It will be surpassed only by that of the 2006 Main Event, when Jamie Gold beat an 8,773-strong field to collect $12 million during what many consider the ‘height of the poker boom’.

The 2019 winner will make it into joint second on the list of the greatest WSOP Main Event winners of all time. They’ll tie with Swedish poker pro Martin Jacobson, who won $10 million in 2014. Remaining in third place on the list will be Peter Eastgate. He became the youngest winner ever in 2008, when he scored $9,152,416 at the age of 22.
